Olivehill Development Initiative (ODI) successfully held its second free community medical outreach on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Luxury Event Hall, Ikorodu West LCDA, Lagos, providing residents with access to essential healthcare services at no cost.
The outreach was conducted in partnership with MedCourt Pharmacy, Luxury Event Hall, Marpe Health Consult, and supported by the organisation’s team of medical and non-medical volunteers. Services delivered on the day included free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, medical consultations, dispensation of essential medications, health education, and meals for all attendees.

A total of 297 residents benefited from the outreach, with medications dispensed to individuals requiring medical support. Beyond routine screenings, community members had the opportunity to consult directly with doctors and pharmacists, while parents could seek medical attention and guidance for their children where necessary.

Mr. Uka Eje, Co-Founder and Chairman at Olivehill Development Initiative, highlighted the motivation behind the outreach. “Preventive healthcare saves lives, yet many people do not have regular access to basic health screenings and medical guidance. This outreach was designed to bridge that gap by bringing essential healthcare services closer to members of the Ikorodu community. Beyond the screenings and consultations, we also took the opportunity to educate participants on the importance of early detection, healthy living, and seeking timely medical attention. Our goal is not only to provide support for today, but to encourage healthier outcomes in the long term,” he said.
The Ikorodu outreach forms part of ODI’s broader community development programming, which spans healthcare access, education, and youth empowerment. Hypertension and diabetes, the two conditions at the centre of this outreach, are among the most prevalent yet least managed health conditions in Nigeria, with a significant proportion of those affected remaining undiagnosed.
MedCourt Pharmacy provided pharmaceutical support throughout the event, supplying medications and deploying personnel to assist with dispensation and consultations.

A representative at MedCourt Pharmacy, spoke to the significance of the partnership. “Access to medication should not be determined by the ability to pay for it. Partnering with OliveHill Development Initiative on this outreach allowed us to extend our reach beyond our counters and put essential medications directly in the hands of people who need them most,” he said.

“One of the most rewarding parts of the outreach was meeting people who may not otherwise have had access to these healthcare services. We listened to their concerns, conducted health screenings, provided consultations, and made essential medications available to those who needed them. We are deeply grateful to MedCourt Pharmacy, our volunteers, partners, and everyone who contributed to this initiative. Community impact of this nature is only possible when people and organisations come together with a shared purpose,” said Maryam Dan-Habu Eje, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Olivehill Development Initiative.
As the organisation continues to expand its community development efforts across its three core thematic pillars of healthcare access, education, and youth empowerment, the organisation remains committed to implementing programmes that respond to the most pressing needs within underserved communities while driving long-term impact.
Olivehill Development Initiative welcomes collaboration with development partners, sponsors, government bodies, and organisations that share its commitment to inclusive and measurable social impact.
